desert grapefruit

Pale white fruit common in the Southern Heats. It is grown on small trees that are heavily fruit laden, and the fruit will generally last 30 days after harvest or 50 if harvested before ripening. The fruit is often traded at the same weight as silver, and is a staple of any small tribe.

As in most desert cultures nothing is wasted, the rinds are piled up and squeezed for all available moisture, and the seeds are ground to make a flour used for bread.
